We currently have openings for a number of Care Professional positions throughout Wiltshire and Somerset. 

  • What’s the difference between visiting care and live-in care?
    Visiting care means our Care Professionals visit you at scheduled times to help with daily tasks. Live-in care, on the other hand, offers 24/7 support with a Care Professional living in your home, ensuring constant care and companionship.
  • What are the costs of home care?
    Our visiting care starts at £32.95 per hour, with a minimum of one-hour visits. Live-in care begins at £1,395 per week. Costs can vary based on your specific needs and the level of support required. We’ll provide a personalised quote after a free home assessment to ensure you get the best care plan.
  • Is Otter Homecare available 24/7?
    Yes, Otter Homecare is available 24/7. We offer flexible support ranging from a few hours a week to full-time live-in care, including evenings, weekends, and overnight care, to meet your needs whenever you need us.
  • What services does Otter Homecare provide?
    Otter Homecare provides a range of services including personal care, medication assistance, meal preparation, mobility support, companionship, help with hobbies, transportation, and household tasks. All services are tailored to meet your individual needs and preferences.
  • What types of home care do you provide?
    We offer visiting care, live-in care, and specialist support for conditions such as dementia, stroke recovery, and Parkinson’s. Care is always tailored to individual needs.
  • How do you select and train your Care Professionals?
    All Care Professionals are carefully recruited, DBS-checked, fully trained, and supported with ongoing training that goes beyond CQC requirements.
  • Are you regulated?
    Yes. Otter Homecare is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and is a member of the Homecare Association, ensuring we meet the highest standards.
  • How do I arrange care for myself or a loved one?

  • Why do you have a minimum 1-hour visit time?
    We believe quality care takes time. A full hour ensures we never rush, allowing our Care Professionals to provide meaningful support and build genuine relationships with clients.
  • What kind of training do you offer?
    We provide comprehensive training, starting with a full induction and practical skills training. Our continuous professional development includes advanced dementia training and opportunities for career progression, ensuring our Care Professionals are always growing and improving.
  • What qualifications do I need to become a Care Professional?
    No previous care experience is required — just compassion, reliability, and a desire to help others. We provide full training and support.
  • What pay and benefits do you offer?
    Our Care Professionals earn a basic weekday rate of £15 per hour, with enhanced pay for weekends and live-in roles.   • What are the working hours like?
    We offer flexible shifts to fit your lifestyle, including full-time, part-time, evenings, and weekends.
  • Do I need my own transport?
    A driving licence and access to a car are preferred, as most roles involve travelling between clients. In some areas, walking or cycling rounds may be possible.
  • What is the application process?
    Apply online or call us. We’ll arrange an informal chat, followed by an interview and checks. If successful, you’ll complete training and shadowing before starting with clients.
  • How much do you pay?
    The starting pay for a Care Professional at Otter Homecare is £15 per hour.

    You’ll support clients with daily living — from personal care, medication, and meals to companionship, hobbies, and helping them stay independent.
