Why families choose us

What makes us different

Good enough for Dad

We only hire carers we'd trust to look after our own families — in fact, our carers support Jamie's own dad.

A small, dedicated team

We keep our team tight-knit, so carers really get to know each client and their family.

Local and personal

We're based in Trowbridge and just around the corner — always close by and ready to help.

Care app for transparency

Family members see real-time updates from every visit, for total peace of mind.

Visits that suit you

From a quick check-in to a full day together — care that flexes around your life, never rushed.

Otter Happy Hour

Every client gets a free hour of care each month to enjoy something special, just for them.

Our "Good Enough for Dad" promise

If our care is good enough for my own family, it's good enough for yours

When my dad had a stroke, I saw first-hand how important the right care is. Today, our Care Professionals support him with the same patience and compassion they bring to every client.

Your care journey

One care journey, one trusted team

You don't have to plan everything today. When you start with Otter, you're not just arranging support for now — you're choosing a care partner for every stage, whatever the future brings. Needs change; that's a normal part of life. What matters is knowing you won't have to switch provider, start again, or make rushed decisions if they do.

1

Start small, at your own pace

Friendly companionship and conversation, light housework or laundry, help getting out and about, a regular reassuring visit.

No pressure to do more than feels right.

A little support
2

Care that can grow with you

As needs increase we gently adapt — personal care, medication assistance, morning/evening or multiple daily visits.

Your care evolves; your relationship with us stays the same.

More each day
3

Staying home, even if care becomes more complex

If staying safely at home needs more, we also provide live-in care — 24-hour, one-to-one support in your own home, a genuine alternative to moving into a care home.

Many families don't realise this option exists until decisions feel rushed.

Round-the-clock

Because we already know you and what matters to you, we can talk calmly about next steps before things feel urgent. You don't have to decide anything now — just know that whatever happens, we've got your back.

Your decisions, your way

Care that protects dignity and choice

We're committed to care that protects dignity and choice, so we always support people to make their own decisions — and we respect consent, every single visit.

It's not red tape — it's how we keep care respectful, lawful and genuinely protective, for clients and families alike.

A real person at the end of the phone — day or night

We answer our own phone, day and night — never a call centre.

One evening an anxious client rang our on-call line; our Registered Manager came out in person to reassure him while we arranged the help he needed. That's the difference between a rota and a relationship.

A deliberately strong office team. For our size, we've built a strong office and leadership team — a Registered Manager, Coordinator, Supervisor and a dedicated Trainer — because that's what protects quality and stops the corner-cutting that creeps in when teams scale thin.
