Jamie founded Otter Homecare after becoming the main carer for his father following a stroke. Twenty years living in Thailand — where caring for older loved ones at home is simply the way of life — shaped his belief in kinder, more personal care. He's currently completing a Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care and lives locally in Bradford-on-Avon.

The people at the door

Our Care Professionals

The same few faces we promise — directly employed, DBS-checked, and trained by our own trainer before they ever visit alone.

Bev, Care Professional Bev Care Professional Bradford-on-Avon & Trowbridge · With Otter since 2025

I came into care because I was my daughter's carer first. One lady wouldn't let anyone shower her when I started; now it's two or three times a week, and that trust is what makes the job worthwhile.

Dee, Care Professional Dee Care Professional Trowbridge, Bradford-on-Avon & Melksham · With Otter since 2025

I've been in care for 29 years. Sometimes I'm the only person a client sees all day, so I always turn up with a smile; one client even teases me: 'Do you have to be so cheerful?'

Codi, Senior Care Professional Codi Senior Care Professional Westbury, Trowbridge, Melksham & Bradford-on-Avon · With Otter since 2025

I helped look after my nan when she was in her nineties — she couldn't afford care, so I went up three times a month myself. What I like most now is making new connections, and meeting such a wide variety of clients.

Zena, Care Professional Zena Care Professional Trowbridge, Bradford-on-Avon, Melksham & Westbury · With Otter since 2026

Growing up with my nan, I always loved spending time with older people, listening to their stories and learning about their lives. After studying Health and Social Care, I began working in a care home and haven’t looked back. I especially enjoy getting to know my clients, discovering their interests and hearing the fascinating stories and experiences they have to share.
