Otter Homecare was founded from personal experience and a deep belief in compassionate, family-centred care.

After growing up in Wiltshire, I spent my twenties and thirties living and working in Thailand. There, I experienced a culture where caring for older loved ones at home, surrounded by family, was simply the way of life — care homes were almost unheard of.

When I returned to the UK, this philosophy took on new meaning. After my father suffered a severe stroke, it felt only natural to care for him at home, ensuring he was surrounded by familiar faces, dignity, and love.

Supervising his support team opened my eyes to the real power of empathetic, human-focused care — not just for the person being supported, but for the entire family.

Otter Homecare grew from these insights. Our mission is simple: To deliver care rooted in kindness, respect, and compassion — bringing comfort, trust, and connection into homes across Wiltshire and Somerset.
