Home care in Corsham
Corsham is a few miles up the road from Melksham, where several of our Care Professionals live. We provide warm, professional home care across Corsham, Box and the villages around, from a friendly daily visit to full live-in support, so your loved ones can stay safe and independent in the home they love.
Care from people who know Corsham
The Care Professionals who look after our Corsham families are based in Melksham, about four miles away, and our Trowbridge office is twenty minutes down the road. We plan Corsham visits as a run of their own, so the same familiar faces come each time and nobody is squeezed in between calls somewhere else. We cover the town and the villages around it, from Box and Rudloe to Neston, Gastard and Lacock.

Most people in Corsham are registered with The Porch Surgery on Beechfield Road, and in Box with Box Surgery on London Road. Whichever is yours, we speak to the surgery and to the district nurses directly, so you aren't left carrying messages between people who ought to be talking to each other.
For anything serious it is usually the RUH in Bath, with the Minor Injury Unit at Chippenham Community Hospital closer to hand. If your relative is on a ward now, we can come and assess them there, so care is ready for the day they get home rather than the week after.
Getting out and about in Corsham
Good care isn't only what happens indoors. We can go with your relative to the shops on the High Street, for a coffee in town, or out to Lacock on a fine afternoon, and stay with them while they're there.
Dementia touches many of the families we support. Beyond Dementia, the Wiltshire charity our team raised money for earlier this year, runs the Corsham Memory Shed on Wednesday afternoons at the Pockeridge and Potley Community Centre, where people with dementia work on practical projects alongside a carer. There is also a memory café in Chippenham for families from Corsham and Melksham. If your relative would enjoy either, we can take them along.
Paying for care in Corsham
Corsham is in Wiltshire, so if you are asking for help with the cost it is Wiltshire Council you will be dealing with. We look after clients funded by the council, we accept Direct Payments, and we are happy to invoice the council directly.
We also publish our rates rather than asking you to ring for a number. Visiting care is from £36 an hour and live-in care from £1,550 a week, with no travel or call-out charge. The rate is the same in town as it is out at Box or Biddestone.
Care in Corsham, at whatever level suits
Most families in Corsham start small and change as things change — you are choosing how much help you would like, not a fixed package.
From a friendly call-in once a day to several visits, around Corsham and villages like Box and Rudloe.
Visiting care →Someone sleeping over who can be woken once or twice, or awake the whole night if that is what is needed.
Night care →A Care Professional living alongside them in Corsham — the alternative to a move into a care home.
Live-in care →Hi, I'm Jamie
A bit about why I started Otter Homecare — and the one-to-one care we bring to families across Wiltshire and Somerset.
Questions from Corsham families
We can usually carry out the free assessment the same day you call, and have care in place within 48 hours. If it is more urgent than that, say so when you ring and we will tell you honestly what we can do.
Yes. Box, Rudloe, Pickwick, Neston, Gastard, Easton, Lacock, Biddestone and Colerne, and the lanes between them. There is no extra charge for any of them, and no travel or call-out fee.
Corsham is the newest of our towns, and the Care Professionals who cover it live in Melksham, about four miles away. You will have a small regular team who know your routine, and you will meet them before care starts.
Yes, and it is something we do often. Where it helps, we will come and assess on the ward so that care is arranged before discharge day rather than after it.
"Everyone I have seen has gone the extra mile and for me at this extremely difficult stage of his quickly diminishing control it has been a God send. I cannot recommend them highly enough."
