The Otter Café
More than care — a warm community space where clients, families and carers come together over a cuppa, a chat and a bit of fun.

A place to belong
We host our Otter Café at village halls around Trowbridge — from a “spooktacular” Halloween afternoon to a sparkling Christmas get-together at Staverton Village Hall. They’re free, friendly afternoons of tea, cake, music and company.
Loneliness is one of the biggest challenges facing older people. The Otter Café is our way of bringing people together — clients, their families, our carers and the wider community — to share a few warm hours that brighten everyone’s week.

It started before we even registered
Long before we were CQC-registered, we ran our Christmas Companionship Campaign — free two-hour festive visits to older people facing the day alone.
It wasn't marketing; there was nothing to sell. It's simply who we are — and it's where the Otter Café grew from. Today the café runs quarterly at village halls around Trowbridge: free afternoons of tea, cake, music and company, open to clients, families, carers and neighbours.
